John Deere transmission calibration power quad transmission. Using the early type command centre display.

Please find the instructions below for John Deere trans calibration via the old style Command Centre:

CAUTION– Tractor May Move Unexpectedly During Calibration. Ensure You Do Not Leave The Cab. The Area Is Made Safe And No One Is Near The Tractor.

General Safety Preparations:

  1. Ensure that the tractor is parked on level ground.
  2. Move the reverse drive lever to the neutral position, the range shift lever to the park position, and disengage the hand brake.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. During calibration, run the engine speed at 2100 ± 50 rpm.
  5. Heat hydraulic oil to a temperature between 55°C (130°F) and no more than 70°C (160°F).

Entering Calibration Mode:

To access the Address List, you use the buttons and thumb wheel on the side panel. Follow the steps mentioned below to navigate through the Display menus:

  1. Use the thumb wheel or the touch screen to highlight the display tab for the message centre page, and then press the enter button.
  2. Use the thumb wheel or the touch screen to highlight the display tab for diagnostic addresses, and then press the enter button.

To enter technician mode (Service Level), press the display tab for diagnostic addresses again and hold it for 5 seconds. When you are in technician mode, you will see a T displayed beside the drop-down menu. If you cannot enter technician mode, press and hold the display tab for diagnostic addresses for a longer period of time.

Preparations for Transmission Calibration:

Select Module PTQ and enter

Navigate through the address list to PTQ037

IMPORTANT: If the transmission is to be calibrated with the Command Centre, the value in address PTQ037 must first be changed and then set back to the Original value. e.g.: Change 0 to 1 and save, then access the address again and reset 1 to 0 and save. Basically you are just changing this value and then setting it back to the value you started with. This lets the module know you have set the oil specification value. This step MUST NOT BE SKIPPED.

Follow the instructions below to prepare for transmission calibration:

  1. Access address PTQ 038 and start calibration.
  2. Use the selection wheel to select address PTQ 038 and press the confirm button. The Calibration Process Begins
